Dates: 22-29 June

Project: I’m an artist working with lichen, but this interest is primarily about the mutualistic relationships of the component organisms and I imagine I’ll also look at coral or other holobionts that exemplify a similar collective ontology. When I’m not underwater I’ll be working on some UV lichen experiments as well as other smaller projects like kinetic/sound sculptures using living bamboo flutes.

Bio: My practice is focussed on plant-based multisensory perception as well as how technology mediates our relationships with the natural world, through areas including plant and non-human robotics and the simulation of nature. I’m currently a PhD Fellow researching epilithic lichen at the School of Creative Media Hong Kong with Professor Zheng Bo.
